A natural form of silicon dioxide, Agate is a variety of Chalcedony. Although agates may be found in various kinds of rock, they are classically associated with  volcanic rocks and can be common in certain metamorphic rocks.

Colors:  Clear or milky white, white to grey, light blue, orange to red, black.
